About The Position

The Yard Truck Driver is responsible for relocating and moving trailers between receiving and distribution docks, maintaining reports of trailer status, and communicating with drivers, distribution, and production teams. This role also involves supporting canning plant transfers and other assigned duties. The position requires the ability to read and interpret various documents, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.

Requirements

• Must have an active CDL.
• Must have an acceptable 10 year driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as federal and state laws, legal documents, safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
• Strong ability to communicate with others with written and verbal communication.
• Ability to perform advanced calculations and formulas.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently as required.

Responsibilities

• Relocate and move trailers between receiving docks and distribution docks, recording each movement on internal reports.
• Maintain reports of trailer # and load status via a yard check.
• Communicate with drivers and provide instruction and detail on parking.
• Check at end of shift as to the status of drivers who have not yet arrived or departed.
• Communicate with distribution and production as to truck and load locations.
• Provide back up support to help move brites or pallets.
• Support canning plant transfers.
• Other duties may be assigned.
