Yard Technician
About The Position
EquipmentShare is seeking a Yard Technician for its rental facility in Houston, TX. This role is crucial for maintaining the storage yard in top condition through daily tasks and maintenance. The Yard Technician will be responsible for inspecting and reporting equipment condition, documenting equipment movement, assisting with repairs and maintenance, demonstrating and loading/unloading equipment, managing inventory systems, ensuring yard and shop cleanliness, maintaining a safe workplace, and upholding EquipmentShare's culture and customer experience standards. This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours, and is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation.
Requirements
- Safety training required and PPE required when applicable
- Occasional lifting may be required, up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to be outside during extreme temperatures
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend and stoop
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
- Must be at least 18 years old to be in EquipmentShare yard
- Employment is contingent on passing a background check.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and report equipment condition before and after usage
- Document incoming and outgoing equipment
- Assist with routine inspections, repairs, maintenance and equipment cleaning
- Demonstrate, load and unload equipment
- Maintain equipment inventory systems according to standard operating procedures
- Serve as responsible for general yard and shop cleanup in accordance with company standards
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free workplace
- Serve as an advocate for EquipmentShare’s culture and uphold our high standards of customer experience
- Assist with various other duties as assigned by the General Manager
