Yard Tech
About The Position
The Yard Tech is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials and items by hand or using material handling equipment. This role involves assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials, sorting and stacking them in designated areas, and performing general maintenance tasks such as cleaning and organizing the yard. The Yard Tech ensures compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, checks equipment in and out of the yard, and verifies that equipment is fit for work. Additionally, the position includes performing basic yard maintenance and housekeeping, maintaining cleanliness and order, performing routine inspections and minor repairs on rental equipment, assisting customers with equipment rentals, and explaining safety and operation procedures. The role also involves loading and unloading heavy equipment onto delivery trucks and performing preventive maintenance on yard equipment and tools.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time
- Experience in using hand tools and power equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with safety regulations
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues
