As a Yard Team Member, you’ll be at the center of our boatyard operations. From launching and hauling vessels to operating heavy equipment, this role is essential to keep our yard running smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate brings experience in marine operations and a readiness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the marine environment performing launch duties.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for a prolonged period of time.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
  • Possess competence in boat handling skills.
  • Skilled in hand tools and power tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification
  • Experience operating travel-lift, marine railway, or other heavy equipment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the haul/launch of boats.
  • Position and block boats based on size, weight, and weight distribution.
  • Manage resource allocation and yard space.
  • Coordinate workload with staff and troubleshoot logistical issues.
  • Transport/move vessels using lift crane or marine railway.
  • Operate fork truck, travel-lift, or other heavy equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate logbook including load information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel expenditure.
  • Responsible for boat bottom upkeep, such as cleaning, painting, sanding, waxing, etc.
  • Handles dock lines, fenders, and has boat handling experience.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection.
  • All duties as assigned.
  • Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
  • Reports any unsafe or mechanical issues to supervisor/foreman.
