About The Position

Yard Supervisor – Olympic Building Centre Location: Winnipeg, MB Lead Operations. Support Your Team. Deliver Excellence. Olympic Building Centre, part of the All‑Fab Group of Companies, is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Yard Supervisor to oversee daily yard and warehouse operations. This role is essential to ensuring accurate order fulfillment, safe work practices, strong team performance, and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Ensure all orders are accurately picked, filled, and loaded according to daily requirements.
  • Identify and highlight specialty items requiring special handling.
  • Ensure hardware items are picked, checked, and ready to ship at least 2 hours before departure.
  • Perform quality checks on all loads; identify short shipments or back orders and correct or escalate as needed.
  • Photograph all loads leaving the yard, including those handled by third‑party carriers.
  • Ensure all third‑party carriers follow site protocols and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records for yard staff within UKG.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free yard and warehouse.
  • Assist or substitute for yard and warehouse staff when required.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to ensure all yard equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Maintain yard security and ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Assign cycle counts to yard staff and perform audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory condition and report critical stock levels promptly.
  • Process credit returns within 24 hours of receiving them.
  • Schedule yard and warehouse staff based on shipping and receiving requirements.
  • Hire, train, develop, promote, and discipline staff as needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships through clear, respectful communication.
  • Instill strong customer service standards across the team.
  • Ensure all staff follow company policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely written probationary reviews and ongoing verbal performance feedback.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations with the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure staff use effective time‑management practices.
  • Encourage staff input and be open to new ideas and improvements.
  • Train staff on loss prevention and ensure all security measures are followed.
  • Monitor and control staffing levels to meet operational needs.
  • Must remain accessible by radio at all times during shift.
