About The Position

The Yard Spotter is a combined position that requires a proactive and detail-oriented person responsible for efficiently working in both warehouse operations and the movement and organization of trailers within the yard. This position requires a physical component to perform the job. Much of the day is spent climbing in and out of the Spotting Truck, jacking and hooking up trailers, frequent walking and bending while spending the majority of the workday outside in different seasonal elements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Heavy equipment experience hooking up and moving trailers
Meet physical requirements to stoop, bend, twist, reach, squat, and lift up to 70lbs.
Ability to focus on a specific task or number of tasks efficiently and accurately.
Positive attitude and eagerness to help when working with an internal or external customer.
Proficiency with others to include reading and writing in English.
Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
Reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
Works efficiently on assigned tasks all by yourself or with little assistance.

One year experience hauling

Responsibilities

Complete yard truck inspection using the inspection form prior to operating at the start of shift.
Conduct daily yard checks at the start of shift and provide a report to the warehouse leader.
Record yard moves on the appropriate form daily and turn into management daily.
Safely operate the yard truck, while facilitating movements of trailers in the yard.
Efficiently move trailers in and out of the dock doors using proper procedures.
Communicate effectively with the warehouse to streamline the flow of trailers.
