About The Position

The Yard Specialist provides safe and effective oversight of vehicle location updates, identification, movement, staging, and vehicle preparation for both full-time and temporary staff. This role operates under the Yard Assistant Manager and Yard Senior Specialist, with the expectation to report all issues to management promptly. The specialist will operate company vehicles safely, perform vehicle handling audits, and support facility unit controls on-site.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret instructions and apply them accurately in the field.
  • Must have solid computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data entry and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and task-planning skills.
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to be proactive and create positive experiences for team members.

  • Employees must be able to successfully provide and complete pre-employment screenings such as employment verification, physicals, drug screens and criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a lead or coordinator role preferred.
  • Automotive logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and coordinate vehicle movements, shuttle routes, and parking locations according to the daily plan.
  • Maintain overflow documentation for staging areas, monitor daily van operations, and oversee activities in staging areas.
  • Prepare and submit daily shift recap reports detailing completed and incomplete tasks to supervisors.
  • Communicate and implement priority changes and specific assignments during the shift, focusing on location scans and identifying aged vehicles.
  • Support and guide team members to meet department requirements and maximize vehicle output efficiently.
  • Deliver clear directions to team members regarding safety guidelines and new task protocols.
  • Conduct daily audits to ensure proper safety and quality standards are maintained on the floor.
  • Assist in executing countermeasures and corrective actions directed by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
