About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Hostler to join our SIDCO Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within our yard and offsite yard. This role requires a strong understanding of various types of vehicles and equipment, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The yard hostler plays a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
- CDL A (Required)
- Must have 2-3 years of current experience
- Clean Safety Records
- MVR and Background checks required
Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver and position trailers, containers, and other equipment in the yard.
- Operate various types of vehicles including tractors, trailers, lift gates trailers and freight transport vehicles.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the lading and unloading freight as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of movement and activities within the yard.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize yard operations and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations while operating vehicles in the yard.
