This Yard Associate position is primarily responsible for consistently providing world-class customer service to support the company's mission. The role involves handling and loading merchandise, merchandising product, maintaining specific areas, and supporting the store management team. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Trade skills accompanied by a personality that will support Core Values and mission.

• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Must be able to lift 90+ pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders.
• Yard Associates working in the Lumber or Nursery departments will need to have the ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff and customers a normal in-person and phone conversation.
• Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel.
• Ascend and descend ladder.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Experienced in forklift, skip-loader and power saw use.
• Upon hire must be willing to obtain and maintain forklift certification (where applicable.)

Responsibilities

• Handle and load merchandise ranging from lumber to cement into customers' vehicles.
• Merchandise product and maintain specific areas.
• Support the store management team.
• Participate in the processing of new shipments.
• Help keep receiving and back room areas clean and organized.
• Uphold store cleanliness standards.
• Be responsive to safety issues.
• Put "Customers First, Tasks Second."
• Obtain and maintain forklift certification (where applicable).
