About The Position

The Yard Operator position at Quality Steel Corporation is responsible for ensuring safety and quality expectations are met. This role involves inspecting equipment, receiving and transporting finished tanks, performing quality control checks, and loading tanks onto trailers. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their workstation and equipment, and reporting any defects or issues to their supervisor.

Requirements

• Experience operating a forklift and Telehandler.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, humidity, cold).
• Ability to record data accurately and in a timely manner.
• Detail-orientated/attentive to detail to ensure safety and quality.
• Ability to safely lift/move up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to receive and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve departmental goals and to improve operations.
• High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of General Labor experience (Loading, Unloading).
• Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety First, Safety Always, and meet or exceed Quality expectations.
• Inspect equipment to be utilized prior to shift start.
• Receive finished (painted) tanks via conveyor to unload.
• Utilize forklift and/or telehandler to transport tanks from Unloading Station to Trailer.
• Perform Quality Control.
• Visually inspect tanks for defects prior to loading.
• Report defects to Supervisor.
• Properly secure/load tanks onto trailer (flat-bed).
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation and mobile equipment.
