About The Position

The Yard Operator role supports the safe, organized, and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing materials in compliance with company policies and quality standards. This position requires the ability to work 8-10 hours per day in outdoor or warehouse environments, with good visual acuity and color perception. The operator must be able to read and follow instructions, perform basic math, and learn to operate yard equipment. A comprehensive understanding of the Yard Program and relevant Quality Manual sections is necessary.

Requirements

• Must be capable of performing job duties for 8–10 hours per day in outdoor or warehouse environments.
• Must not have recurring physical conditions that would be aggravated by the physical nature of the job.
• Good visual acuity and color perception are essential.
• Must be able to read, follow written instructions, and interpret labels or safety signs.
• Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Capable of learning to operate equipment used in yard operations (e.g., pallet jacks, banding machines).
• Able to comprehend and apply relevant parts of the Quality Manual pertaining to yard operations.

Responsibilities

• Handle, store, and ship products in accordance with company specifications.
• Possess a complete understanding of the Yard Program, including all related procedures.
• Accurately count and verify product quantities as materials are received.
• Mark incoming materials clearly with Work Order numbers and customer-specific identifiers.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas—including inside the shop and the phosphate area—free of debris and metal shavings.
• Support and contribute to meeting established production and performance goals.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Operate forklifts safely and maintain valid forklift certification.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
