About The Position

The Yard Operator is responsible for the safe and effective execution of all yard handling and phosphate processing activities, ensuring compliance with operational, quality, and safety standards. This role involves material handling, verification of incoming and outgoing materials, and performing phosphate operations according to established procedures. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, ensuring a safe work environment, and supporting overall production objectives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (8–12 hours per day) in industrial and outdoor environments.
  • Physical capability to safely perform job duties without conditions that may be exacerbated by manual labor or exposure to phosphate operations.
  • Strong visual acuity, including accurate color perception, to support operational and quality requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to accurately document activities and follow detailed instructions.
  • Proven ability, or demonstrated aptitude, to learn and operate equipment associated with yard handling and phosphate processing operations.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency, including addition and subtraction, required for accurate material handling and reporting.
  • Forklift operation and material handling equipment operation.
  • Required certifications for equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute material handling activities, including receiving, storing, staging, and shipping products in accordance with company specifications.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing materials through accurate counting, inspection, and proper identification, including marking with work order numbers and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of yard operations, including material movement protocols, equipment usage, and safety procedures.
  • Perform phosphate operations in accordance with established SOPs, including SOP VI-005, ensuring adherence to all process and quality requirements.
  • Conduct and document routine phosphate solution testing and maintain accurate production and process records.
  • Ensure all documentation, including job packets, logs, and reports, is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas across the yard, shop, and phosphate facilities.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and maintain required certifications.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, including the consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support production and operational performance objectives through efficient execution of assigned tasks.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, procedural violations, or operational issues to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Ensure full compliance with NOV Tuboscope HSE standards and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operational continuity and business needs.
