About The Position

The Yard Manager is responsible for the coordination of all yard activities, yard personnel and field support.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of construction equipment and materials
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction support operations
  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Assure yard operations is staffed with qualified personnel in all departments.
  • Oversee movement of all projects related equipment; Pitman Trucks, Bucket Trucks, etc.
  • Oversee all rental equipment for projects.
  • Oversee all tools for projects.
  • Oversee all material movement in and out of yard and stored in yard.
  • Always maintain a well-kept yard and stay current with all City, County, & State Regulations.
  • Assure all safety policies/procedures are always being followed.
  • Support requests from Corporate Office, Orchard Office, & San Francisco Office whenever necessary.
