The Yard Load Builder's primary responsibility is to safely assemble packages of building materials from lumberyard inventory, stage them for delivery, and provide customer service by assisting customers in loading their materials.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Be forklift certified or willing to become certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Capable of lifting up to 95 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
  • Willingness to learn and identify various grades of lumber and building materials.
  • Ability to work in rough weather conditions.
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and work quickly to meet demands.
  • A respectful and approachable attitude toward others, representing the company professionally to customers.
  • Punctuality and the ability to complete tasks by deadlines.
  • Willingness to be flexible and contribute to team needs.
  • Eagerness to go beyond necessary tasks and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Safely assemble packages of various building materials from lumberyard inventory.
  • Stage materials for delivery to customers.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Assist customers in loading their materials.
  • Skillfully assemble building material packages to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Load packages onto delivery trucks with precision, ensuring safe transportation.
  • Receive and unload materials from vendors' trucks or railcars, contributing to inventory.
  • Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.
  • Interact with customers and subcontractors in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Assist customers in loading their materials onto their vehicles.
  • Train others on work processes.
