As a Yard Load Builder, you will be responsible for safely assembling packages of building materials from inventory, staging them for delivery, assisting customers with loading materials, and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Be forklift certified or willing to become certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Capable of lifting up to 95 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
  • Willingness to learn and identify various grades of lumber and building materials.
  • Ability to work in rough weather conditions.
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and work quickly to meet demands.
  • A respectful and approachable attitude toward others, representing the company professionally to customers.
  • Punctuality and the ability to complete tasks by deadlines.
  • Willingness to be flexible and contribute to team needs.
  • Eagerness to go beyond necessary tasks and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to take the initiative and train others on work processes.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and verified through the federal E-Verify system.

Nice To Haves

  • Some computer experience is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble building material packages to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Load packages onto delivery trucks, ensuring safe transportation.
  • Receive and unload materials from vendors' trucks or railcars.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Interact with customers and subcontractors in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Assist customers in loading their materials onto their vehicles.
