About The Position

A Yard Leader assists customers in selecting & loading materials needed while maintaining a clean and safe lumber yard. Ensure that products are properly stocked and ready to be purchased. Facilitate the operations of a busy lumber yard environment, including driving, shipping, and receiving functions when required. Direct lumberyard and warehouse when needed.

Responsibilities

Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation.
Manage the operations of a busy lumber yard environment, including receiving of product, unloading trucks and overall yard maintenance/cleanliness.
Interact with all customers, fellow employees, and others with a high level of professionalism.
Lead department by demonstrating the highest level of safety, customer service and merchandising.
Management of inventory levels to maintain needed stock.
Take all necessary safety precautions when handling freight, tools and equipment.
Store material in the correct location in the yard.
Creation and monitoring of direct reports schedules.
Employee reviews
Oversee order picking of yard and upkeep of the area.
Other duties as described by management.
