Requirements

Lumberyard operations & safety experience.
Skilled communicator
Has interpersonal skills
Detail oriented
The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Able to lift 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day
Able to work in inclement weather.
Can plan ahead & then adjust to changing conditions.
Proficient math skills.
Good judgment and decision-making skills.
Professional demeanor to portray company in a positive manner.
Able to problem solve with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Direct experience with customers in the yard
Familiar with all the building products & their purpose.
Previous load building, receiving, delivery, and dispatching experience.
General construction knowledge.
Supervisor/ Management experience

Responsibilities

Coordinate Incoming orders with picking zones
Effectively listens & communicates to load builders, management, and dispatch
Resolve daily workflow bottlenecks
Tracks status of all load building
Works effectively with multiple picking zones
Ensures safety of all who enter the yard, including staff & customers.
Assist in training yard and delivery staff. (including New Hire Trainings)
Ensuring forklift safety measures are taken by team
Help assemble building material packages & help stock inventory of products when needed.
Help assist in keeping work area neat, clean and organized.
Securing the yard to eliminate theft and damage from weather and other causes.
Encourage motivation within the team
Lead Load Builder Breakout Meetings
Communicate building status and issues to dispatch and management as needed
Maintain workflow efficiency within the yard
Assign and monitor productivity in picking zones
Other Duties as assigned.
