About The Position

Alta Services (dba Alta Contracting) is a full-service demolition contractor providing commercial and industrial demolition services, with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. The Yard Laborer supports efficient warehouse operations by moving, handling, and organizing materials in the yard and warehouse. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, teamwork, and a smooth flow of goods, and offers paid work with opportunities to develop skills in heavy equipment operation, inventory management, and logistics. The position is in person.

Requirements

Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Willingness to learn and take direction.
Ability to complete tasks independently without constant reminders.
Basic knowledge of construction tools, materials, and equipment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, including creating and updating documents, entering information, and organizing spreadsheet records.
Ability to maintain accurate records of tool and equipment inventory, assignments, returns, equipment condition, and service and maintenance needs.
Comfort using Microsoft Teams, uploading photos, and completing digital checklists.
Clear and professional communication with Santos, Eddie, drivers, and field crews.
Ability to safely perform outdoor yard work and handle tools and materials.

Nice To Haves

1–3 years of experience in a construction yard, equipment rental yard, contractor shop, or similar environment involving tools, equipment, and inventory.
Mechanical aptitude.
Forklift experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Eligibility to drive company vehicles if assigned deliveries or errands.

Responsibilities

Keep the yard organized and orderly.
Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for field requests.
Help ensure equipment is ready for use.
Track tools and equipment, including assignments and returns.
Document equipment condition and identify service needs.
Maintain accurate inventory and service records.
Use Word and Excel to update and organize records.
Use Teams for communication, photos, and digital checklists.
Coordinate with shop personnel and field crews as needed.
Assist with deliveries or errands when assigned.
Learn and follow the company’s systems and procedures for equipment tracking and organization.
Provide dependable support and eventually serve as backup coverage for Santos.
