About The Position
In the position of Yard Jockey, you will be responsible for the movement of trailers within the premises. Through safe and communicative practices, the employee will aid Transportation and Warehouse needs.
Requirements
- Safe and communicative practices.
- Ability to conduct visual inspections of equipment and trailers.
- Ability to report defects, incidents, or damages immediately to management.
- Ability to perform preshift and post shift inspections of the tractor.
- Ability to maintain proper charging of equipment with minimal downtime.

- Back up Class A driver capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Move company equipment, trailers on and off docks as needed.
- Conduct visual inspections of the equipment, trailers must be done on a regular basis.
- Report any defects that are found to management.
- Position may serve as a back up Class A driver.
- Establish communication between Transportation and Warehouse teams.
- Aid in the preventive maintenance (PM) process of our trailers needs between the jockey, transportation, and our maintenance technicians.
- Preshift and post shift inspections of our tractor must be done as required.
- Report any defects found, any incidents or damages that occur throughout the shift immediately to management.
- Maintain proper charging of equipment with minimal down time.
