About The Position

Responsible for ensuring that trucks and trailers are positioned in the appropriate location and that they are maintained and functioning properly, along with handling pick-ups and deliveries as needed utilizing a Class A CDL vehicle.

Requirements

Must be minimum of 21 years old and eligible to engage in interstate travel
Minimum 2 years’ experience and 130,000 verifiable tractor trailer miles required OR successful completion of the Driver Trainee Program
Class CDL-A License required
Valid Medical Examiners Certificate (medical card) in accordance with DOT Guidelines required
Commute distance must be less than 1 hour and 15 minutes from work location

Responsibilities

Make scheduled pick-ups at assigned vendors.
Act as a relief driver to assist drivers who encounter hours of service issues.
Perform special deliveries to stores or other events as scheduled.
Position trucks and trailer at the appropriate dock location.
Turn on refer units and ensure the units are functioning properly.
Ensure the cooler and freezer areas of the trailer are at appropriate temperatures prior to products being loaded.
Hook tractors with assigned trailers.
Deliver truck to fuel island for re-fueling purposes.
Run equipment through wash bay and hand polish chromes wheels and bumpers as assigned.
Maintain daily activity log to reflect positioning, fueling, repairs, etc. by equipment and type.
