About The Position

The purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate activities on the shop floor as it relates to the processing of materials. The Yard Foreman will maximize the productivity of people and equipment, supervise assigned staff, and direct, coordinate, plan, and assist in scheduling work. This role also involves promoting and supporting good housekeeping practices, safety, and quality, maintaining effective communication between shifts and departments, and administering disciplinary actions. The Yard Foreman will also aid in development and adaptation to changes in methods, procedures, and new or rebuilt equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three-Five years industry experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Knowledgeable in the operation and trouble shooting of multiple production lines
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written or verbal)
  • Must have basic mathematical skills; works with production schedules, counts, production weights, and measurements
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Must be able to read and interpret production schedules, instructions, and procedures
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to work in shop environment and be exposed to heat conditions
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts on a rotating shift basis

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred
  • 3G Certification
  • Minimum of two years welder lead level welding experience

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the productivity of people and equipment.
  • Supervises assigned shift/staff consistent with established policies and procedures to meet assigned performance goals.
  • Directs, coordinates, plans and assists scheduling of work.
  • Promotes and supports good housekeeping practices, safety and quality within area of responsibility.
  • Maintains effective and timely communication between shifts and departments to ensure continuity and cooperation.
  • Maintains necessary records for performance of hourly employees to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Administers necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Aids in development and adaptation to changes in methods, procedures and new or rebuilt equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
