Yard Equipment Operator 1st Shift
About The Position
We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team. New employees can potentially earn $56k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits! The Yard Equipment Operator is responsible for safely moving, loading, and unloading materials using forklifts and/or other types of equipment in a manufacturing setting.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months experience operating a forklift, preferred.
- Ability to pass internal forklift certification.
- Ability to read and understand loading requisitions.
Responsibilities
- Load, rig steel joists and/or girders on trailers as assigned.
- Assist with loading and unloading material in shop as needed.
- Assist with steel joist bundles and yard layout as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
