About The Position

The Yard Driver is responsible for maintaining organization and production in the Springfield terminal yard. This role involves spotting inbound and outbound trucks, organizing the yard for efficient flow, and expediting trucks to the shop for associates. The Yard Driver also ensures sufficient equipment is available for truck shops and provides excellent customer service to Prime drivers and shop associates.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is required
• Must have valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record
• Ability to get in and out of trucks and hook/disconnect trailers multiple times per day
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 100lbs and push and pull 50lbs
• Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop
• Must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
• Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills required
• Multitasking and a flexible schedule required

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred
• One to three years related experience and/or training preferred

Responsibilities

• Spotting inbound and outbound trucks

• Provide excellent customer service to Prime driver and shop associates
