About The Position

The Yard Driver is responsible for communicating with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing, maintaining trailers by inspecting them for mechanical safety and emergency equipment, ensuring proper fuel levels, and performing trailer inventory checks. The role also involves utilizing warehouse management systems (e.g., yard management system, radio) to move trailers to designated locations within the yard. The Yard Driver must ensure quality by maintaining records, logs, and forms, including any required by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Additionally, the position requires operating a tractor-trailer unit safely by adhering to all safety requirements, including placing trailers in designated locations. Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • 6 months experience operating tractor/trailer units
