About The Position

The Yard Driver is responsible for maintaining a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) free from moving violations and embracing a lean culture. This role involves reviewing paperwork for completeness and accuracy, checking orders, and driving trucks to job sites as instructed. The Yard Driver will assist area personnel, ensure proper documentation and signatures on delivery documents, and keep management informed of activities and any significant problems. Additionally, the position requires accurate completion of required forms and paperwork, maintaining vehicles in a safe and secure condition, performing special projects, and using prescribed safety equipment. As a safety-sensitive position, adherence to alcohol and drug use policies is mandatory, along with predictable in-person attendance at the assigned location.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Colorado Motor Vehicle License
  • DOT Physical Required
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report
  • Required to join, or currently belong to the Local 720 Laborers Union
  • Interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to apply safety standards
  • Safe driving skills. Ability to drive large delivery trucks such as regular pick up trucks, 4500’s up to 6500’s
  • Ability to use forklift

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to two (2) year of delivery experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) free from moving violations

  • Review paperwork for completeness and accuracy
  • Check orders for accuracy, correct addresses, and support documentation
  • Follow established loading procedures and assist in unloading as required
  • Drive truck to jobsites as instructed and assist area personnel as needed
  • Leave the appropriate paperwork and secure the required signatures on delivery documents
  • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems
  • Complete required forms and paperwork accurately and according to Company procedures
  • Keep vehicles well maintained, safe, and secure
  • Perform special projects as required
  • Use safety equipment as prescribed by company to ensure safety on jobsite
  • As a safety sensitive position, complete adherence to alcohol and drug use policies set by company
  • In-person, predictable attendance at assigned location
