About The Position

This position is responsible for moving trailers in and out of doors at the Distribution Center (DC) and placing them in designated spots on the yard. The Yard Driver will also transport trailers between off-site locations. The role requires performing daily inspections of yard equipment, reporting any defects, and ensuring units are maintained in a safe manner. Additionally, the Yard Driver may perform general warehouse duties, including loading and unloading trailers and operating forklift-type equipment, as needed by the Distribution Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to adapt to job duty and department changes, as required.
• Must be able to back 48’ and 53’ trailers proficiently.
• Driving record (MVR) must be acceptable.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform required trailer switches, most of which are urgent and critical, under the direction of the department manager and team leaders.
• Transport trailers between off-site locations.
• Perform daily inspections of yard equipment and report all defects.
• Ensure yard equipment is maintained in a safe manner.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including loading and unloading of trailers and use of forklift type equipment, depending on Distribution Center needs.
