About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Non CDL Yard Driver in City, State — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position involves performing warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting. The role also includes managing day-to-day paperwork, accurately picking and packing products, and safely maneuvering tractor trailers within the yard (not on public roads). Drivers are responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and DOT regulations, continuous training, and providing excellent customer service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Must have verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment: 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Yard Driver Examination
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Basic level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable to site
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

  • Meet Ryder's driving qualifications
  • Candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
  • Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
  • Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
  • Responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads
  • Requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Maintaining accurate moves, yard inventory, records and logs
  • Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Other tasks as assigned
