About The Position

Prime Inc. is seeking a Yard Delivery Driver for their Reed City, Michigan location. This role involves moving trailers from the company yard to a distribution point approximately 3 miles away. This is a local driving position, but requires a minimum of 6 months of Over-The-Road (OTR) experience within the last two years to be considered.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience hauling a 53-ft trailer OTR is required - must be within the last two years.
• Valid CDL with six months of CDL A experience and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to being hired.
• Ability to get in and out of trailers and hook/disconnect trailers multiple times per day.
• Ability to lift and carry 20lbs (includes mattress lift, rebar and sledgehammer to unlock brakes).
• Ability to push and pull 80lbs (includes fuel hose, truck cab hood and clutch).
• Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills required.
• Multitasking and a flexible schedule required.
• Required 3rd shift availability could be necessary for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Moving trailers from our yard to our customer’s distribution centers nearby.
• Spotting inbound & outbound trailers.
• Ensuring sufficient equipment is available for customer needs.
• Must have good communication with drivers on load requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service to our Prime drivers and customers.
• Additional work-related tasks as needed.
