About The Position

The Yard Associate's primary responsibility is to consistently providing our customers world class customer service which will support our mission of being "the most helpful hardware stores on the planet!" Yet, outstanding service is not enough. This role involves handling and loading bulk goods, customer deliveries, merchandising product, and maintaining specific areas. A personality and approach that strongly represents our Core Values and Expectations is required, along with an enthusiastic, positive, supportive sales focused attitude.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn
• Commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
• Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Must be able to lift 100+ pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders
• Ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds (for Lumber or Nursery departments)
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing
• Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
• Ascend and descend ladder
• Ability to work at heights
• Experienced in forklift, skip-loader and power saw use

Responsibilities

• Handling and loading bulk goods ranging from lumber to cement into customers' vehicles
• Customer deliveries and pick up orders
• Scales for measure of bulk product, pricing, stocking
• Drive Forklift, Loader, Pick-Up, Box Van and Dump Truck
• Merchandising product, maintaining specific areas, and supporting the store management team
