About The Position

Central Valley, a family-owned building supply company with eight locations throughout Northern California, is seeking a part-time Yard/Customer Service Associate for its Napa facility. The role locates, loads, and unloads building materials in the yard and warehouse; helps customers find products; prepares materials for purchase and delivery; and maintains safe, clean, and organized work areas. The position is 24–30 hours per week on the day shift and requires Saturday availability.

Requirements

At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Strong measuring skills.
Familiarity with power and hand tools.
Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, pushing, and pulling; climbing, kneeling, crawling, and hand dexterity; and lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 60 lbs.

Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Help customers locate products and load vehicles as needed.
Unload and stock incoming materials; verify quantity, accuracy, and condition against vendor packing slips and submit them to receiving.
Write accurate yard tags with product codes and quantities to support inventory counts and customer transactions.
Keep yard and warehouse areas clean, neat, safe, and secure; observe for safety, theft, and security risks.
Assemble and load products for customer deliveries and transfers to other locations.
Resolve customer dissatisfaction with materials.
Store materials safely to prevent damage and stock them neatly in the proper locations.
Rotate stock to maintain product quality and retail readiness.
Identify building materials and wood products.
Safely operate and maintain forklifts and other yard equipment, and complete the daily forklift checklist.
Measure and cut materials using a power saw.
Prevent product damage while loading and unloading, and report damage to the supervisor immediately.
