About The Position

We are looking for customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join our professional team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. To be considered for this position, applicants should currently be residing in Canada and legally entitled to work. This role involves managing and maintaining equipment in the yard, ensuring it is clean, serviced, and organized.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with working outdoors year-round.
  • Available and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Individual must be detailed oriented, organized, and display pride in their work keeping the equipment under their management clean, serviced and always organized.
  • Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.
  • Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.
  • Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift license or experience operating forklifts and/or other construction equipment is a definite asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience operating tools and equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks with shoring, shielding and road plate with gross weight less than or equal to 8,500 lbs.
  • Inspect returned equipment under 8,500 lbs, red tag, and cycle through the service workflow.
  • Rotate equipment from wash bay to necessary service bay, to prep and paint and back into the service line.
  • Communicate damage to branch manager right away for Work Order management.
  • Cycle equipment on Work Order through the necessary workflow, from wash bay, to welding bay, to paint then service line.
  • Stay in constant communication with shoring technician, welder, wash bay and painter to ensure equipment is always moving into service.
  • Keep the storage of vertical hydraulic shoring (rails, chudoform, and cylinders), build a box, XLAP shields, adjustable spreader and high arch spreader stacked, unbuild, serviced, and neatly organized at all times.
  • Communicate parts requisitions to shop foreman for purchase.
  • Wash/clean equipment using pressure washers and other tools, maintain clean physical facilities, and organize equipment in the yard.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned.
