About The Position

Yard Coordinator is somebody who exhibits exemplary dispatch skills within an account or location, with the intent to take on more responsibility. The Candidate ensures that productivity and operational goals are met in order to deliver customer satisfaction. Individual will be working in a dynamic environment that focuses on delivering continuous measurable improvement to the customer.

Requirements

H.S. diploma/GED required High School Diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years or more Experience with DOT, and driver routing with minimum of 2 years experience in Logistics and/or Transportation preferred
Knowledge in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch) advanced preferred
Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems advanced preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office intermediate preferred
Use Yardview system to coordinate moves with our yard jockeys
Communicate via radio with the yard team, our customer and dispatch
Communicate with customer via email, radio and in person
Each trailer or store has a specific time to be plugged to a door, this must be followed and kept as close as possible
Must do yard audits periodically to confirm trailers and temps are running properly
Respond to customer email and radio requests in a timely fashion
Use your team around you for any assistance needed.
Send a report periodically to dispatch and our customer on progress of trailers being loaded.

Will train on operation of YardView system and basic excel use

Responsibilities

Serves as a Lead Dispatchers to help guide/answer any questions throughout the course of the shift
Addresses any customer issues and/or provides resolution to problems that are within the scope of work, otherwise engages management for help
Backfills for dispatchers when needed
Responsible for ensuring any and all necessary forms used for the day-to-day operations are filled out completely and accurately
Provides training for all new hires and/or any additional training needed for current staff
Monitors and advises management if functional, productivity goals and objectives are not being met
Performs other duties as assigned.
