Yard Attendant/Yard Person
About The Position
The Yard Attendant/Yard Person is responsible for washing all equipment, including Sysco trailers and tractors. This role adheres to Lock Out Tag/Tag Out procedures, maintains records, and reports any observed damage to product or equipment. The position also involves maintaining the property by distributing salt and removing snow for safe access to the yard and parking lots. Additionally, the Yard Attendant performs janitorial duties such as emptying garbage cans and sweeping under dock doors, fueling equipment as needed, and any other duties assigned by management. This role requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Clear Driver’s Abstract.
- Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Nice To Haves
- Related experience in a transportation or maintenance environment is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Washing all equipment including but not limited to Sysco trailers and tractors.
- Following Lock Out Tag/Tag Out procedures as required.
- Maintaining records in accordance with Sysco documentation requirements.
- Reporting all damage of product or equipment as observed.
- Maintaining the property free of obstacles; distributes salt/removes snow to allow for safe entry and exit of the yard and parking lots accessed by Sysco associates and community attending the site.
- Adhering to all Sysco Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Emptying garbage cans, sweeping under dock doors, and other janitorial duties as required.
- Fueling equipment as needed.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by Management.
