About The Position
As a Yard Associate, your responsibilities include safely operating a forklift to load and move materials, as well as keeping the warehouse and landscape supply yard well organized. In this position, you are required to interact with customers as you load products into their vehicles and answer any questions they may have. To be a successful Yard Associate, you must be organized, plan ahead, and prioritize your daily work.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Forklift certification
- English (Spanish is a plus)
- Valid Hoisting License (Rhode Island only)
- Basic Math and inventory skills
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Point of Sale experience and basic computer knowledge
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and equipment to load, move, and organize materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard
- Properly label, package, and inspect materials for quality
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Plan and organize daily tasks efficiently
- Complete daily paperwork and reports
- Provide strong customer service and support
- Follow all company policies
- Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Arrive on time and ready to work
