About The Position

This role involves inspecting and performing checkout and check-in procedures for equipment, reporting its condition before and after usage. For the Supply aspect of the role, duties include handling new merchandise and supplies for sale, as well as equipment available for rent. The incumbent is expected to model company values, collaborate with internal/external resources, and participate in ongoing self-development. This position also involves assisting with routine inspections, maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of equipment, as well as equipment demonstration, loading, and unloading. Maintaining equipment inventory systems, general yard and shop cleanup, and ensuring equipment is kept in good, clean, and orderly condition are key responsibilities. The role requires working safely, adhering to all company policies, and performing other assigned duties. For Supply-specific functions, this includes pulling will-call and customer orders, receiving and storing inventory, ensuring sufficient inventory levels, and proper storage of inventory for effective yard space utilization. Prioritizing tasks, following operating procedures, and assisting staff to ensure safe yard activity and cleanliness are also essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred.
  • High school/equivalent diploma or trade school diploma preferred.
  • Two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction and rental industry equipment.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization.
  • First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

  • Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within a required time after hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and performs all checkout and check-in procedures, reporting equipment condition before and after usage.
  • Handles new merchandise and supplies intended for sale, as well as equipment available for rent.
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes.
  • Assists with routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Assists with repairs, as needed.
  • Assists with equipment demonstration, loading, and unloading of equipment.
  • Maintains equipment inventory systems according to standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for general yard and shop cleanup in accordance with company standards, maintaining a safe and hazard free yard.
  • Maintains company equipment – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Pulls will call and customer orders for delivery.
  • Receives, handles, stores existing and incoming inventory shipments.
  • Assists in ensuring that there is sufficient inventory to meet organization needs.
  • Ensure that inventory is stored correctly, safely, and that yard space is used effectively.
  • Prioritizes and completes tasks to ensure team resources are used efficiently.
  • Follows proper operating procedures and standards.
  • Assists staff to ensure all yard activity is being conducted safely and yard cleanliness is meeting standards.
