About The Position

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is a leading distributor of heavy equipment and cranes in the central United States. The Yard Associate moves equipment into and out of the yard, places equipment in an orderly manner, safely loads and unloads equipment, and washes and details equipment using power wash bay equipment. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of experience in a related position.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Valid driver’s license.
Basic mechanical knowledge related to heavy industrial construction equipment.
Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, reach overhead, and climb on and off heavy equipment.
Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate typical noise, hazardous materials, and fumes or odors.
Adherence to the personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintenance of individual PPE to ensure functionality.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of and ability to operate heavy construction equipment; experience preferred.

Load and unload equipment safely.
Prepare shipping documents promptly and accurately.
Organize and maintain machine keys.
Maintain the status of equipment in the yard.
Keep equipment and attachments organized and orderly.
Wash and clean equipment in the wash bay and prepare it for use.
Maintain consistent and reliable on-site attendance.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
