About The Position

Strathmore is looking for a reliable and motivated Yard & Shop Technician to support its operations team. This role involves maintaining equipment, organizing the yard and shop, and ensuring crews have the necessary resources for field operations. It is a dynamic, full-time, year-round position suitable for individuals who enjoy variety, teamwork, and working both indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record
Experience in a similar role
High school diploma
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Team player with good organizational skills
Ability to work independently and perform physical work
Comfortable lifting up to 23 kg
Good communication skills in French and English
Comfortable using technology and software tools

Nice To Haves

Class 1 or 3 driver's license
Forklift experience and certification
Heavy equipment experience
Bilingualism (French and English)

Responsibilities

Keep the shop and yard clean, organized, and safe
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
Assist with inventory organization and parts management
Receive, stock, and track new and used parts
Perform basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment (oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, equipment washing)
Prepare equipment and tools for daily operations
Assist technicians with repairs, assembly, and troubleshooting
Troubleshoot and complete quick repairs on irrigation systems and landscape equipment
Support turf care operations as needed
Transport equipment, vehicles, and machinery between job sites
Operate company vehicles including trailers, tractors, loaders, and forklifts
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Load and unload materials safely
Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness
Follow all company safety standards and procedures
