About The Position

The YMCA of Columbia-Willamette is seeking individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about its mission and vision, putting principles of love, respect, honesty, responsibility, and service into practice. This is a part-time position reporting to the Youth Development Coordinator. The Y-Time Aide helps to oversee the daily operations of the Y-Time program and potential Kids Night Out programming. This role ensures a safe, enriching, and developmentally appropriate experience for all participants while fostering a welcoming environment that supports the well-being and engagement of every child. The program serves primarily ages 1-8 (up to age 12 for select programs) and operates up to 12 hours per week, with a specific schedule of Monday - Thursday from 8:45 AM - 11:00 AM, though the schedule may vary based on program needs and flexibility for varied hours, including weekends, is required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass YMCA background check
• Complete required training within 30 days of hire
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with youth and families preferred

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of Y-Time and Kids Night Out programs
• Engage children in a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
• Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and structured program environment
• Maintain accurate attendance records and program rosters
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space
• Demonstrate reliability and flexibility with scheduling
• Model YMCA values and mission in all interactions
• Follow organizational policies and procedures
• Physically able to lead activities and lift up to 25 lbs
• Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
