About The Position

Colorado Springs Imaging is seeking a full-time X-Ray Technologist to join our team! This role involves performing various diagnostic X-Ray procedures, adjusting equipment settings, determining proper voltage and exposure, and positioning patients. The technologist will utilize ionizing radiation for specific procedures and assist physicians with examinations involving contrast media or tomographic scans. The position also includes educating patients, reviewing charts, obtaining prior exams, performing high-quality scans, and coordinating scan protocols with the Radiologist. Maintaining and inspecting equipment, reporting quality concerns or failures, and communicating departmental issues are also key responsibilities. The role operates in an outpatient clinical environment with potential exposure to radiation, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a medical office.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
  • Registry in Radiography (R)
  • Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
  • Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Nice To Haves

  • Two plus years’ experience in X-Ray- preferred
  • Ideally target candidates that open to Bone Density - Dexa training/certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs various types of diagnostic X-Ray procedures, adjusts X-Ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient.
  • Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation.
  • Assists physicians in assigned examination utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations.
  • Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
  • Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.
  • Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
  • Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
  • Transfers images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
  • Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
  • Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
