About The Position

The xPL Sourcing Agent manages the supplier sourcing lifecycle, including quoting, fulfillment, customer and supplier relationships, negotiating competitive costs, resolving issues, and facilitating on-time deliveries. The position drives efficient and profitable sales revenue execution, improves sourcing workflows, and expands the supplier network. It works with xPL Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Data Analytics, as well as customers and suppliers, to improve order execution and sourcing operations. The role may also supervise direct reports and support hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, appraisals, and employee development.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least 6 years of supplier management, procurement, manufacturing, or construction experience; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is accepted.
Working knowledge of supply chain, logistics, purchasing, and accounting principles.
Knowledge of procurement policies, practices, processes, and key handoffs.
Customer relationship management skills, including understanding customer needs, setting service expectations, and providing exceptional customer service.
Effective active-listening and follow-up practices.
Interpersonal relationship-building skills to develop trusted relationships with stakeholders across organizational levels.
Negotiation skills and ability to influence supplier outcomes.
Analytical and process-oriented critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage high volumes of work, prioritize responsibilities, and collaborate to advance projects in a complex environment.
Professional presentation and written business communication skills, including anticipating needs and tailoring communications to audiences.
Supervisory experience and ability to mentor, delegate, and develop employees.
Ability to drive process improvements using continuous improvement concepts and methodologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, computer skills, and collaboration tools and applications.
Proficiency with ERP systems and a CRM system; SAP is preferred.
Ability to travel on a limited basis.

Responsibilities

Understand customer needs and constraints and translate them into Requests for Quotation (RFQs); obtain and negotiate supplier pricing, timing, and value.
Present RFQs to customers, secure commitments to place orders, and manage the sourcing lifecycle through fulfillment, invoicing, and customer payment.
Collaborate with xPL Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Data Analytics teams to identify improvements that increase efficient order execution.
Troubleshoot supplier, delivery, and customer fulfillment issues through resolution.
Build supplier relationships, understand cost trends and supplier capabilities, negotiate volume discounts, and resolve issues.
Work with xPL Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams to manage contractual obligations and expectations, hold suppliers accountable, and assess performance against KPIs and contractual commitments.
Identify and implement procurement and supplier management practices that improve cost, quality, and reliability.
Advance workflow automation and scalable, software-driven order processing to reduce manual tasks.
Build stakeholder trust and identify opportunities to expand the business with new customers, suppliers, and products.
Use an ERP system to improve sourcing operations and reporting; develop reports to assess current conditions, trends, and opportunities to increase sourcing revenue.
May supervise direct reports; participate in hiring and onboarding; provide timely performance feedback; contribute to annual performance appraisals; use talent management systems; and identify appropriate employee development training.
