About The Position

Develop accurate, coordinated 3D models and complete drawing packages for xPL Offsite manufactured products and project applications. Translate design intent into shop drawings and Issued for Fabrication (IFF) documentation using manufacturing-oriented 3D platforms for structural systems, mechanical piping and conveyance systems, electrical distribution, controls-related infrastructure, and pathway systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering, or related field or trade experience, with minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or construction, or a related role or equivalent education, training, and experience
Experience in prefabrication, manufacturing, commercial construction industry, and construction operations
Proficiency in MCAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CAD Mep, Rhino, and/or similar design software)
Familiar with construction documentation and coordination software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360)
Basic understanding of scripting and programming languages to enhance design processes (e.g., Python, C#, VB.Net)
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Interpersonal and team building skills with ability to work across organizational levels and with clients and vendors
Ability to apply active listening skills to hear and understand ideas, options, and opinions of others
Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule

Responsibilities

Create accurate, detailed, and coordinated 3D models for xPL Offsite manufactured products including structural framing and assemblies, mechanical piping and conveyance systems, and electrical distribution and controls-related infrastructure.
Develop complete shop drawing and Issued for Fabrication (IFF) packages, inclusive of views, dimensions, details, schedules, part information, and other fabrication information required to communicate manufacturing, assembly, and installation of products.
Coordinate interfaces between structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and manufactured product systems within federated 3D model.
Develop and coordinate models across 3D and manufacturing-oriented platforms (e.g., Revit, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, Rhino).
Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles to develop product details, connections, components, and assemblies.
Model and document items as applicable to assigned scope (e.g., structural members and connections, piping and equipment arrangements, supports and hangers, cable tray, conduit, busway, equipment enclosures, control panels, related system interfaces).
Use models as primary means of communication, support work through coordination, fabrication, assembly, and continuous product improvement.
Work with design stakeholders (e.g., application engineers, senior designers, delegated design professionals, engineering consultants, vendors) to translate engineering criteria, calculations, schematics, diagrams, and design intent into coordinated models and fabrication-ready documentation that conforms with applicable codes, contract documents, and project specifications.
Work directly with xPL manufacturing team to understand production methods, obtain feedback, resolve fabrication issues, and improve future design output.
Maintain model and drawing accuracy, document control, revision history, and consistency between design, shop drawing, and fabrication information.
Participate in and contribute expertise to model reviews, drawing reviews, prototype development, quality reviews, and fabrication-readiness checks.
Apply and support continued development of standardized product details, modeling standards, drawing templates, content libraries, plug-ins, and repeatable design-production workflows.
Contribute to scripting, automation, and workflow improvement as appropriate.
Build technical expertise in assigned xPL products to support product development, standardization, and continuous improvement efforts as applicable.
Contribute to related design, coordination, and manufacturing support activities as needed to advance xPL product and project delivery.
Travel as directed to manufacturing facilities, project sites, vendor facilities, or other xPL locations to support execution
