About The Position

Expert MRI is a cutting-edge medical diagnostics company featuring the region’s foremost experts in neck/spine injury and general orthopedic imaging. The physicians and staff at Expert MRI are among California’s most knowledgeable and experienced at diagnosing orthopedic and traumatic brain imaging. In addition to extensive MRI capabilities, we also use CT and X-ray to assist in properly diagnosing your patient’s condition. We are currently looking for an X-Ray Technologist to join our team.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certified by American Heart Association
  • Graduate of a certified school of X-ray technology
  • Registered as a fully licensed X-ray technologist by ARRT bypassing the registry exam and qualifying for the position.
  • Holds required licensure by the state of California.

Responsibilities

  • Operate X-Ray imaging equipment to produce flat-plane images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Interview patient to explain X-ray imaging procedures and ensures removal of those metal objects which can prevent successful imaging.
  • Prevent others from entering the room when the X-ray machine is scanning.
  • Position patient on examining table or standing in the correct orientation and focuses on the area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
  • Facilitate patient and technologist communication during examination.
  • Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be imaged, orientation specified, and positioning utilized into computer.
  • Key commands to specify views obtained and adjust parameters into computer.
  • Observe patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort and communicates regularly with patient to assure comfort and compliance.
  • Modify X-ray technique parameters as needed to achieve optimal results.
  • Move dicom datasets to destinations and storage per policy and procedure.
  • Alert and control access to anyone about to enter the X-ray room to the danger of entering a radiation emitting area.
  • Act as a gatekeeper to maintain a safe environment.
  • Stop imaging if problems arise.
  • Minimize radiation exposure while maintaining sufficient dose for diagnostic quality images.
  • Solve problems in real time and escalate when necessary for quality and patient safety.
  • Participate in the training of X-ray students in their clinical rotation as needed.
