About The Position

Perform diagnostic outpatient imaging on patients while ensuring and maintaining proper radiation exposure requirements. This role involves producing high-quality diagnostic images, proper patient positioning, and operating equipment. The technologist will assist Radiologists for procedures if necessary, maintain proper documentation and terminology with knowledge of anatomy, and learn new imaging protocols and equipment as needed. Responsibilities also include inputting patient data into RIS, PACS, VSDM, observing patient privacy policy and complying with HIPAA, performing routine cleaning of the work area and associated equipment, laundry, and stocking. The role requires providing care and compassion with all patients, following appropriate policies and procedures for exams, and being willing to perform or accept other assigned duties. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required, occasionally outside regular working hours, to accommodate business needs and training opportunities. The position supports the mission, vision, and values of the corporation.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Diagnostic Radiology Program of 2 or more years.
  • Must hold a current ARRT certificate.
  • Must continue to obtain the recommended amount of Continuing Education Credits each year per certification(s).
  • Continuing education in accordance with the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DEXA is preferred, but willing to train.
