This is a Per Diem X-Ray Tech position. The role involves managing patient care and safety, preparing patients for procedures, operating CR/Digital X-ray and imaging equipment, performing Bone Density exams, obtaining and documenting patient history, assessing risk factors, ensuring proper patient identification in PACS, clarifying doctor's orders, producing quality diagnostic images, maintaining cleanliness of the x-ray room, adhering to infection control standards, performing QA/QC testing, prioritizing work assignments, maintaining a clean work area, communicating professionally with other departments, planning care delivery, being familiar with emergency equipment, demonstrating awareness of radiation safety, assisting the Radiologist with fluoroscopic procedures, obtaining patient information for fluoroscopy, documenting fluoroscopy time, performing routine quality control checks on equipment, reporting equipment malfunctions, following sterile procedures, and verifying exams in the PACS system. General job functions include directing daily operations of radiology functions, making decisions, delegating tasks, ensuring patient and staff welfare, maintaining equipment records, planning and assisting with new staff orientation, implementing and overseeing Quality Control as mandated by the State of New Jersey, demonstrating understanding of safety and radiation protection, canceling and rescheduling appointments, replenishing supplies, and demonstrating understanding of customer and co-worker needs. Technologists may also be asked to perform General X-ray and Bone Density procedures in satellite offices.
