About The Position

The 61st Street Service Corporation, a provider of administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors, is seeking an X-Ray Technologist. This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast, which comprises over 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties. The X-Ray Technologist will perform all duties related to the acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of X-Ray images, while ensuring patient care within the X-Ray area. This role reports administratively to the Site Administrator and clinically to the Medical Director.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Graduate AMA approved school of Radiology required
New York State Licensed X-Ray Technologist by the Department of Health required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required

Responsibilities

Greets patients by confirming patient identification, reviewing imaging requests, checking for special instructions, and confirming anticipated services.
Assists physicians with prepping patients for interventional or peripheral studies.
Assists physicians during all procedures to provide optimal examinations.
Performs a broad range of imaging procedures to produce diagnostic medical images using independent judgment.
Demonstrates skill in equipment set-up, utilization, and proper maintenance protocols.
Ensures good working order of equipment and troubleshoots routine equipment problems or seeks technical assistance for malfunctions.
Works closely with the Clinical Operations manager to manage inventory, place orders, and organize supplies.
Acts as a liaison with NYPH IT for networking and Vue PACS/equipment setup.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
