About The Position

Nebraska Health Imaging is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate X-Ray Technologist to join their energetic, patient-focused team at their outpatient imaging center in Omaha, NE. This role involves providing high-quality diagnostic imaging, creating a positive patient experience, and working collaboratively. The position offers a day shift schedule, Monday-Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call, weekends, or holidays, promoting a healthy work-life balance. There is also potential for a part-time opportunity. The role includes opportunities for professional growth, such as cross-training to assist as an MRI Tech Assistant, gaining exposure to another imaging modality. The X-Ray Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, prepare and position patients, review physician orders, apply ALARA principles, perform venipuncture, assist with specialized procedures, maintain exam rooms and equipment, and support students. The company emphasizes a patient-first approach using AIDET and HEAL communication techniques.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
  • Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT.
  • Must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
  • BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures using established protocols and appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Prepare, identify, position, and communicate with patients throughout their exams to ensure comfort, safety, and excellent image quality.
  • Review patient history and physician orders to ensure accurate and appropriate imaging.
  • Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and others.
  • Perform venipuncture, maintain IV access, and administer medications as directed and permitted by applicable regulations.
  • Assist with fluoroscopic, specialized, and interventional radiographic procedures using appropriate aseptic technique.
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and digital imaging records to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  • Support students and residents through instruction and preceptorship when needed.
  • Assist other imaging modalities and departments when workload allows.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
