About The Position

Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, explaining the procedure in layman's terms to alleviate anxiety and obtaining consent forms if necessary.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and adjusting equipment for correct exposure.
• Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting any abnormalities to the Radiologist, and entering patient history data.
• Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels films for identification, and maintains required records.
• Ensures images are properly marked with side indicators and correctly labeled with date and patient identification.
• Enters exams onto the daily log sheet and completes correct tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
