The X-Ray Technologist will perform and assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during their radiographic and fluoroscopic examination. This role involves reviewing patient medical history, ensuring examination orders are complete and meet medical necessity, and evaluating contraindications. The technologist will communicate effectively with patients, use proper positioning and scanning techniques for patient comfort and safety, and conduct clinical assessments. They will apply independent judgment to ensure accurate image capture and, as necessary, acquire additional images for optimal diagnostic results. The role also includes maintaining patient privacy, adhering to professional and ethical standards, providing preliminary reports, assisting with department operations and student education, and transporting patients. Staff members must demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan to meet diverse patient needs.
