About The Position

X-ray technicians are responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as instructed by physicians or radiologists.

Requirements

  • Producing high-quality radiographic images of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as instructed by physicians or radiologists.
  • Preparing and positioning patients for imaging procedures, which may involve lifting or assisting patients with limited mobility.
  • Operating Xray and fluoroscopic equipment to capture images while adjusting settings such as kilovoltage and milliamperage for proper exposure.
  • Ensuring patient safety by applying lead shields, following ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure, and confirming all individuals in the room are protected.
  • Reviewing images for clarity and retaking them if necessary to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment, performing minor adjustments, and reporting malfunctions to management.
  • Documenting patient information and verifying physician orders before procedures.
  • Collaborating with radiologists and healthcare staff to determine if additional imaging is required.
  • Administering contrast media for specialized studies when required.
