The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures adhering to the principle of radiation protection, according to local, state and federal standards. This role involves patient identification, performing diagnostic radiographic services with care, evaluating technical quality, and ensuring successful technical continuity of care and education of radiological procedures to patients. The technologist will also assist in data gathering for quality assurance programs, maintain assigned areas with necessary equipment and supplies, adhere to downtime procedures, and manage their own professional development through continuing education. They must be knowledgeable regarding patient condition, history, and information pertinent to proposed examinations.
